ecobasa at Move Utopia

From the 21 - 25. June we were part of an utopian world, where we designed the present and future together with 1000 other utopians. This moneyfree, vegan, co-created encounter was full of workshops, open-spaces, permaculture, healing, creativity and art.

Living utopia means also that new relationships could come into being by transparently sharing needs and talents. This can be called moneyfree(er)-living, ecommony, commonism, gift economy or unconditional sharing. But beyond the terminology, this encounter was about experiencing this way of being and creating ways for it to become more part of everyday life.

We from ecobasa felt like fish in the water surrounded by so much gift-economy and hosted a gift-circle and a presentation of our project, followed by connection time between participants. We also had a small library at our stand. One important re-connection was to oya magazine, which we read since years and still is one of our favourite mediums of information. We participated at some of the workshops hosted by oya, gave consultancy on how to integrate more gift-economy in their "business model" and set the base for a new article that hopefully will follow soon.

We're looking forward for more encounters like this and thank the Utopia-network for all of their work!
